Understanding the genetic effects associated with calorie restriction offers the hope of therapies that radically extend healthy lifespan without any associated diet and lifestyle changes. Biomarker Pharmaceuticals is a venture-funded company currently attempting to capitalize on this sort of research. Its existence is a sure sign that the larger medical research market is taking this very seriously.
